Naviera Armas is a shipping company established in 1941 in Lanzarote and it has become in short time one of the largest companies operating in the Canary Islands, Spain and Morocco.

Today the company manages one of the largest and most modern fleet in Europe, which consists of more than fifty vessels operating on its various routes. Naviera Armas in 2003 started a renewing program based on the restoration of one ship a year. The ferries operate between the ports of Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, El Hierro, La Palma, La Gomera. Each ship has the name of a volcano, such as “Volcan de Tijarafe”.

Naviera Armas wants to become the first Plastic-Free shipping group, and to this end it is carrying out a series of steps to eliminate virtually all of the consumption of disposable plastics on all its ships, maritime terminals and offices.
